Pilot testing of metacognitive strategy training to address cancer-related cognitive impairment in breast cancer
Have you had breast cancer? Has brain fog impacted your daily life?
We are conducting a research study to see if a new intervention reduces the impact of cancer treatment on daily life.
We are looking for women age 20-75 years who have completed breast cancer treatment within the past 3 years and are currently experiencing brain fog.
The study will last 12 weeks and includes: 2, 2.5-hour assessment sessions including an MRI scan (occur on MU campus); 10, up to 45-minute intervention sessions (occur on MU campus or via phone call, depending on randomized group). Participants will be paid $50 for each set of assessments and for each MRI scan (total of $200 for completing the entire study).

Efficacy of the Improving Participation after Stroke Self-Management-Rehabilitation (IPASS-R) program in sub-acute stroke
Have you had a stroke in the past 6 months? We are conducting a research study evaluating the effectiveness of a virtual self-management health intervention.
Eligible participants are individuals between 45-80 years old who had one stroke in the past 6 months, live in the community, and can read/write/speak English.
This study will last for approximately 6 months. Each group will consist of 6, 90-minute weekly sessions. You will be at your home for each of these sessions or a place of your choosing and will participate by videoconferencing along with other individuals who have had a stroke. We will administer assessments before the intervention, after the intervention, and 6-months after via videoconferencing. Each testing visit will take 2 hours, and you will be paid $75 for each. The assessments will consist of questionnaires, interviews, and thinking tests. This study is completed virtually via Zoom videoconferencing, so no campus visit is required.
